Ashley and her porridge

Ashley is an 'angmo' girl, from the time that I was expecting her, it was lots of pasta, steak, all western palate. She jumped to the tune of the italian anthem, loves cereal, potatoes and most importantly hates the traditional Chinese weaning food, PORRIDGE! It feels like we are giving her poison each time its porridge time.

Well, she is not going to get her way and I am determine to improve the taste of the porridge so that she has no excuse that its awful.

To prepare, Mummy bought corn, celery, tomatoes, carrots, onions, mushroom to boil vegetable stock. The stock smells heavenly and my first taste tester is my son Ashton. He said it was very nice!! Good encouragement but then this is the boy who loves soup, so any soup will be nice to him.

The real test comes on 22 Sep, 11.30am - Ashley's Lunch Time. See the pictures and judged for yourself :)

,

Recipe/Ingredients for her porridge:
Put the vegetable stock into the slowcooker since early morning,
Put in 1 slice of chicken to further improve the taste, then eventually the lundberg brown rice to cook. Maid steamed the threadfin fish and choppped it into fine flakes. Ashley also has 1 cube of sweet potato and 1 cube of carrot as side dishes.

Results:
She happily finished her porridge, sweetpotato and carrot. But I think the consistency of porridge can be improved. MIL said that in the past, Ashton's porridge was very fine, okay, good try nevertheless, kambate!! Will improve on the consistency of grains tomorrow.
