We had a very fruitful day today. We went to his school for "Parent Teacher Meet" where his teachers told us his performance in school. Most things were average (meaning he can do what other kids can do) and there were a few items that were improving (meaning gaps but trying to close it). One of the "improving" items was about him crying in class when yeye leaves the school. Teacher Juliana said he was actually alright some time back but recently this behavior came back again. It will take lots of hugging before he can allow them to put his personal belongings into the cubby hole. Plus it will be great if we can coach Ashton in his counting, alphabets and drawing.
Then we proceeded to Choa Chu Kang. Our first stop was at the Farmart where there are shops selling farm produce amongst others. Quite a boring place actually. Then we went to Qianhu fish farm for a quick lunch followed by a visit to the fish farm. Ashton loved to look at the fish and got all excited with the big big fishes. The strange thing is that when he saw the discus fish, he said its meimei. Daddy said maybe those fishes were very gentle, hence reminding him of meimei. Anyway, glad that he still think of meimei while having fun.
After the fish farm we drove to the Dairy Farm to see goats. Ashton said it was smelly and definitely didn't enjoy it as much as the fish farm. He tried one mouthful of the cold goat's milk from papa's bottle and decided that Pokka green tea tasted a lot better and kept asking mummy for more. Clever boy :)
We wanted to go to the avian farm but it was not opened, so it was Home Sweet Home. After a short time at home, it was off to por por's place for dinner. After dinner, we came back home and within half and hour, it was off to Bishan Driving Range to meet our friends for prawn fishing. Ashton being our firstborn has the honour of joining us for our maiden prawn fishing trip. It costs $15 per hour for the rod. Papa managed to catch 4 prawns during the 1 hour, plus 1 large prawn that escaped when he was trying to put into the basket. Ashton was a little tired and scared initially but soon he realised that it was fun and started to wait impatiently for papa or the uncles to catch the prawns. It was overall a really fun-packed day for Ashton and hopefully he will remember the fish, goat and prawns that he saw today.
